What you need to run it

Less than schools usually expect. The only thing on this list that is not already in the building is the fingerprint reader on the counter.

A phone, either kind
The parent app runs on Android 8 and above and on iPhone from iOS 15. Sign-in is a one-time code by SMS, so there is no password to keep.
A PC in the office, and nothing at the counter
The console is a Windows 10 desktop app for the bursar. The till is not a separate download, because an attendant signs in on a phone or tablet already at the counter.
A connection at the till
Every sale is checked against the ledger as it happens (the balance, the cap, and the fingerprint), so the counter needs to be online to serve.

Nobody has to wait for a download

Sending pocket money has never needed an app, and it never will. It is an ordinary paybill payment from whatever phone a parent already has: the school’s paybill number, the student’s account number, done. The app adds the statement, the spending caps, and withdrawals for parents who want them. A parent who installs nothing can still send money, and their child can still buy lunch.
